Scene On Three #18, Darke By Angie Sage

This bizarre sleeping figure was Jim Knee --- Septimus's jinne --- who had gone into hibernation. He had been asleep for some four weeks now, ever since the weather had turned wintry. His breathing was slow and regular, except fo a loud snore that escaped now and then.

Marcia did not welcome having to share her sofa, but she preferred it to the alternative if Jim Knee being awake. Ignoring a sudden snurrruff from the jinnee, she opened the Apprentice Almanac.......(p.69 -70)

"That may be true according to the Apprentice calendar." he said. "But----"

"But what?" Marcia interuppted irritably.

"Snur . . . snurrrufff!"

"Godness me, what is that noise?"

...

...

"You won't. I promise, Septimus replied"

"Don't make promises that you can't be sure to keep," Marcia told him.

A silence hung in the air.

"Sner . . . urrufff!"

"Oh, for goodness' sake," Marcia muttered, casting an irritated glance at the jinne.

...

They were silent for a while and then Septimus said, "Marcia?"

"Yes?"

"You know how you are always saying that we must be honest with each other? "

"Yeees?"

"Sner . . . snurrufff . . ."

Scene yang panjang untuk mengawali Scene on Three di tahun 2014 :D

Masih ingat dengan Jim Knee?  Jim Knee masih bikin ulah meskipun sedang hibernasi.  

Percakapan di atas terjadi saat pertemuan penting antara Penyihir LuarBiasa---Marcia, Sang Alkemis---Marcellus Pye dan si Murid Penyihir---Septimus Heap. Pertemuan itu seharusnya berlangsung serius karena akan menentukan dimana Septimus melewatkan Darke Week-nya yang berbahaya.

Tapi, seperti biasa, petualangan Septimus selalu penuh dengan laugh-out-loud moments, bahkan di saat serius-seriusnya dan suram-suramnya sekalipun.

Suasana tegang berubah jadi lucu, atau lebih tepatnya, mengesalkan bagi Marcia, karena dengkuran Jim Knee yang berbunyi tepat pada waktunya. LOL :D

Oke, ini scenes pilihan saya hari ini. Diambil dari buku Darke by Angie Sage. Karena buku ini dari Secret Santa, jadi tunggu reviewnya di akhir Januari ya.
